Lived Life
THE BIG IDEA
According to the torah energies of this week - this is a great time for a spiritual check up.
Note the places in your life you continue to hold guilt and the fear of punishment —even after you have done the work to be forgiven.
Immediately after burying their father Jacob, the brothers return to Egypt terrified that their brother Joseph will now take vengeance on them for the sin they committed against him in their youth. When they share their fear it brings Joseph to tears – pained to know that his brothers are so stuck in their personal guilt around the past, they remain completely blocked from from seeing, as he does, the divine hand in the entire unfolding,
Recognizing, regreting and taking responsibility for hurting another (tshuva) is the core principle of a torah practice — but the end of The Book of Origins closes with an essential final step — the need to accept that forgiveness is real. Only then can you complete the process and see the divine presence - even in your worst decisions and hardest places.
Until we heal learn to take that final step— to trust that our inner work (tshuva) has been accepted and we can be completely forgiven from past mistakes - by God, or anyone at all…… we will always find ourselves unable to fully trust one another, and will remain blocked from the ability to see the goodness of the divine hand in our life and the life of our nation.
