To Encounter

THE BIG IDEA

Reunion time!

According to the Torah Omens this is a favorable time to facilitate an encounter with your lost, forgotten or neglected parts.

Judah’s accountability for his past actions, Joseph’s deep cries of forgiveness, and a father’s overwhelming reunion with his long lost son, open an energetic field and inspire our own inner softness and growth.

Do your best to rebuild your relationship with your inner protector, siblings or a parental figure from whom you might feel estranged. Release yourself from the torture of your past mistakes or resentments that haunt you, and find relief in the feeling of unity and wholeness.

Use this weekend to integrate the mysterious Chanukah lights you pulled down, forgive all the parts of your ancestral self you have been carrying in shame, and fill your being with a deep sense of deep unity.

SOMATIC EXCErCISE

Find your inner Judah, the messy part of you that tried to sell the shiny dreamer part of yourself for dead.

Feel the consequences of your inner Judah’s actions in your own life. Take time this weekend to locate the bully part in yourself, notice the effect it has taken on you, allowing yourself the space to take responsibility for any harm done and rewrite the story.

Where have you been stifled or bullied by an inner voice?

What opportunities or pain has that voice cost you?

Drop one step deeper and investigate the voice itself — who is your inner Judah? Is it an internalized voice of a sibling or close friend?

And then, when you are ready, step up and face the hurt part of yourself and experience the relief of being forgiven. Witness that part of yourself not only is alive, but thriving.

Connect with your inner Joseph, now fully in command of the situation, and witness the growth that has happened in your highest self. Trust yourself to be completely in charge of the situation —no longer vulnerable to the power or influence of others, and make space for tears to flow and ease the distance between your two inner worlds.

Move through each of these experiences until you come to a sense of inner unity.

Repeat this with exercise imagining yourself as a father that finds out his son is still alive, and a son that once again can embrace the father he loves.

And with that, prepare for the next wave of reality.

Shabbat Shalom!
