The Divine Call

THE BIG IDEA

If you identify as an active member of the ancient Israelite tribe  - you are likely feeling  the spiritual pressure building within and around you. 

For a people asked to stop their week every seven days and ceremonially celebrate the divine, build a hut and leave their house once a year, occasionally fast for 25 hours, eat a strict divinely prescribed diet, and be in a constant state of mindfulness about our speech, dress and behavior, it’s always a shock to the spiritual system to encounter the pressures around Passover, the most powerful and demanding symbolic practice of the year. 

The physical demands of the holiday often manifests as a feeling of anxiety around cleaning the “chammetz”  (bread stuff) out of your house and creating an entirely new bread free kitchen and home environment. 

However, on a more subtle level it’s important to remember we are flipping our world upside down to acknowledge the moment Creator of the Universe turned reality upside down to save the descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob from absolute oppression of mind, body and soul. 

So take a deep breath and do your best to remember what is really going on right now.  

We are one week away from the full moon of redemption - the one time of the year that has a cosmic force to get us out of the reality of war, and hate, and guns, and killing, and protesting, and anger, and negativity… and deliver us into a world of growth through joy. 

This is the time of outright revealed miracles and total rebirth. Of complete renewal. 

So best you can, embrace this feeling of pressure (talking to myself here). Embrace the spiritual opportunity on a personal and collective level. Clean your home AND YOURSELF out of all the illusion and lies and arrogance and excuses and doubt that keeps us from seeing the outright miracle of the survival of the jewish people and our ancient customs in this world. The miracle of matzah, and that matzah represents. Clean out the thought forms that keep you from believing this redemption can and will happen again — this time on a universal level. 

And for those that feel overwhelmed by the possibility of making a mistake – take solace in this week’s torah energies that remind us that mistakes will happen and with an animal offering you can free yourself from any guilt (we just need that temple back… ) So while you are praying for redemption… you might also want to through up a prayer for the whole spiritual liberation package — cause let’s face it… war and hate suck and we need out of it ASAP!
