THE BIG IDEA

Time to scout out the future you prayed to inhabit.

Be realistic about the challenges you will need to overcome, trust the mystery to deliver you with grace, secure your connection with your innermost voice.

This week’s Torah Omens carry a serious warning; if you abandon the light during this time, it will abandon you. Even God gets tired of the endless cycle of being doubted.  Be on high alert for the part of yourself that wants to give up  and run away from life’s inevitable next challenges.

If you do get stuck this week, don’t worry — Moses opens the channel of compassion and grace. Use this meditation to summon additional (self) forgiveness into your life, and release the part of yourself (that continually undermines your positive forward movement).

Do your best to see with faith filled eyes, and strengthen your relationship with the parts in you that believe.

OFFERING EXERCISE — THE DOUBT JOURNAL

This week is filled with (arguably) the most serious doubt energy in the whole Torah, the doubt of the people that (after endless miracles and the gift of Torah) still don’t believe. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself questioning the purpose of everything this week.

Doubt is a tricky energy because it catches everything else in it. Once you begin doubting, there is no end to where those types of thoughts can take you.

The first step in stopping a cycle of doubt, is knowing how to slow down, take a breath and notice your thoughts. Only after you see the doubt for what it is can you take the next step and ask ‘is that thought true?’

For example:

Step 1: The doubt:

God took his people out of Egypt to get them killed when they entered the land.

Step 2: The truth:

Of course not! That would be a ridiculous plan.

This week create a personal ‘doubt journal’ and write down every doubt that comes to you in a day.

STEP ONE

Every time you feel a negative thought rising, or a thought of self doubt, doubt of others, or doubt of the Source Energy of the Universe, just write it down.

STEP TWO

Review your statements and ask ‘is that true?”

STEP THREE

Review your findings with a person you trust (a trusted friend, teacher, coach, therapist or guide).

Wishing everyone a Shabbat Shalom — may we remove the burden of (self) doubt from our lives and this world.
