Korach

THE BIG IDEA

Why not me?

According to the Torah Omens this is a favorable time to drop one level deeper into your personal self investigation. Find the places in yourself motivated by jealousy.

This is a tricky energy to investigate especially in these times of ‘self empowerment’ where we are told to find our voice and assert without limit. But the Torah Omens this week remind us to investigate the motivation behind our assertions and rebellions. Aspirations motivated by jealousy are the recipe for all corruption.

Do your best to identify your inner Korach and the ‘envy fueled defiance’ you carry — and allow that part to be seen and swallowed by the earth whole.

Conversely, this week is an excellent time to find the places where you are constantly being challenged or attacked, find your inner Moses, the place where you connect deeply to your sense of inner knowing, and allow that connection to defend you and its own honor

Affirm your cosmic purpose, like Aaron with his staff, chosen from all the others, to blossom like an almond tree in spring.

Be the stick that blooms.

IDENTIFYING YOUR ENERGY

At different times in our lives we carry more or less of certain archetypical energies.

For example, Korach and Moses are different types of energy.

Korach was a divinely appointed servant that works in the Tent of Meetings  (a Levite) that wanted more spiritual responsibilities.  He went after his desire by challenging the authority (Moses).

Moses is the divinely appointed servant of God that leaves his position entirely in the hands of the Source Energy. When challenged he looks inward, connects with God and calls on the higher power to address the truth.

Take some time to identify which energy is more prevalent in you.

Who do you turn to in order to advance in your position? Do you flatter or insult people to get there?

When you want to see change — where do you send your appeal?

Do you appeal to authority? Do you appeal to God? Do you work in both systems?

ACTIVITY: STOP, DROP, LOOK WITHIN

Put out a yoga mat.

Stand still and imagine Korach energy coming directly after you. Allow yourself to imagine whatever or whoever most threatens and attacks you to be standing in front of you in protest.

Drop to your mat and take child’s pose on the ground.

From that position of submission stretch your arms in front of you and sense yourself at the feet of the person or thought is attacking you. See yourself humbled by its overwhelming presence.

And then, still in child’s pose, imagine a presence bigger than whatever is attacking you. Imagine that person or thought to be a messenger from a bigger source behind it. Make sure to scan yourself internally to see if there is anything for which you are accountable in the situation.

And then reconnect with your most inner sense of knowing. Ask that essence for help to protect and guide you. Ask for your branch to flower.

When you are ready, rise up and see yourself supported and protected, and feel the weight and power of your words.
