THE BIG IDEA

According to the Torah energy this is an important week to process loss on whatever level loss it is showing up in your life right now - personally, and as a part of the collective.

The torah energy this week carries loss after loss after loss…. Miram loses her life. The people lose their water.  Moses loses his cool  ( and because of it he loses his chance to experience the promised land) Aaron takes his last breath. Edom (Esau) misses their chance to repent. And the people lose their faith in God (yet again).

Notice where loss has hit you in your life. This is the time. Try your best to open your heart and allow yourself to feel it for what it is. After Miriam died the people acted out, after Aaron died the people cried for 30 days - loss can express itself in a huge range. And while we don’t explicitly mourn on Shabbat - even in the time of personal grieving- it is essential to admit what is going on and to take sacred time to let our hearts breath, and sigh, and even cry out with feeling.

This is an intensely difficult period within an eternally challenging history -  invite yourself to connect with the ancient energy of your ancestors and take advantage of this moment. Sometimes things are heavy,  that too is part of the experience of the goodness of the One.

Of course it isn’t all gloomy. The energy this week sees the people unite for the first time, appeal to God and win a war on their own merit.  They make a song. Not a hit song - but a song nonetheless.  And the collective admit their wrongdoing (when snakes started attacking them) and beg Moses for help – as a result homeopathic healing comes into the world. (Those being bitten by a snake are healed by looking at a representation of the snake).

So after you process your loss on whatever level it is showing up  -  tap into the channel for homeopathing healing that opens this week. We have all become sick with war and hatred - turning it also on each other - so take a moment to admit the war that is happening within. The anger that has taken root, the depression that is holding you, the violence and discrimination we try to sniff out around – and allow the energy of loss to work for you – let go to the best of your ability the war energy that has gotten inside - and try to let it go.
