Let Go

THE BIG IDEA

Ready for spiritual bootcamp?

According to the Torah Omens this is a favorable time to Let Go and initiate a process of spiritual rebirthing.

Name the fear that chases you. Stare at the sea of overwhelming possibility ahead. Call out to the almighty (with all you’ve got), find your inner stillness, and prepare for a clear path of personal salvation to reveal itself. Cross through your inner sea and watch the fears that chase you wash away.

And that’s just the start.

This supernatural experience, and the song it inspires, is the prerequisite needed to face the challenges of this week’s tests. Expect difficulties. Expect frustration. Welcome relief. And most importantly, follow the rules. Spiritual bootcamp is designed to strengthen your relationship with only voice in this life that can actually help you across the sea.

A few tips: #1 If you want something, ask God directly (not an intermediary). #2 Follow spiritual law entirely.

Remember, the point of training is not to suffer, rather, to strengthen your inner connection.

SOMATIC EXCERCISE

During the 6 week energy field called Shovavim we are invited to prepare ourselves for the energetic opening that happens on Passover (April 15th-April 22) where the energy of redemption rips through the cosmos. In order to prepare properly, use these coming weeks to break free from the spiritual pollution that blocks your higher channel and inner voice from guiding you.

FACE YOUR FEAR

Imagine yourself a fugitive trapped between your captor and the roaring sea.

Open yourself to a full range of emotions.

Allow yourself to feel the impossible feeling of being cornered. Who do you cry out to? Who do you chastise for bringing you to that moment? How do you process the feeling of betrayal, disappointment and fear?

Dwell in those feelings until the deep feelings of desperation in this life overtake you.

Then, when you can, try to hold yourself, and get really really really silent.

Imagine the impossible happening.

For no reason that you personally merited, the sea of despair splits wide open and you, and everyone you love, are able to walk through.

And as you get to shore, the water crashes back into place, drowning your pursuer and any possibility of past trouble getting you.

You are safe, you are truly free.

Find your sea that blocks your forward movement. Find the thing that chases you. Realize you have been saved for no reason of your own doing. Take a drum or shaker or tambourine. Sing a song of light.

You are safe. You are free. And you will stay that way, as long as you believe.

NAMING YOUR FRUSTRATIONS

This week’s narrative sees A LOT of frustration. Frustration of the people who are acclimatizing to the challenges of the desert. The frustration of Moses who cannot understand the slow spiritual growth of the people and struggles to have them understand they have a direct connection with God and can affect change directly. The frustration of God who has literally altered the fabric of the universe to save these people who refuse to follow his spiritual law.

Use this week to find and name your own frustrations. Are your frustrations most like B’nei Israel — you don’t know how to meet your basic needs? Are your frustrations that of Moses — trying to teach a source of direct connection to another? Or are your frustrations like God — where you feel others won’t follow your rules and laws?

Take some time to sort through your frustrations and find the compassion for each part.
