COME. Bo.

According to the Tora omens, expect darkness and core traumas to surface this week -  we are in the final unfolding of the Ten Plagues, and death is in the air.  This time of great transition may be especially painful for anyone still attached to Old Consciousness, hierarchical thinking or the parts of ourselves that resist change and have difficulty with surrender.

In another layer of awareness, this week marks the end of a 4 year cycle that brought America’s shadow to its own attention. Shadows, now exposed, will have to be addressed by the coming administration, along with the effects of the virus that continues to spread at an alarming rate and alter the movements of the modern world.

From a Torah perspective, this is a favorable time to do deep ego work and scan for any parts still attached to old ideas or ways of thinking. Take time to notice the thoughts and places from which you draw energy. Is it yourself? Is it your government? Or is there a source that is bigger than any individual? In Egyptian culture (at the time of the Torah), the Pharaoh was treated as a God. Torah consciousness stands as a continual warning on placing faith in any human incarnation above a universal, infinite, unifying presence.

This is also a good time to notice parts of yourself stuck in indecision or unable to be moved by clear signs or impulses within. Do you suffer from ‘Pharaoh Heart Syndrome’ -  the Yes/No heart, that is ultimately unable to release oppressive ways of thinking about yourself and others. “And Hashem (continually) hardened Pharaoh's Heart:”  note the parts of yourself afraid to go with your initial “Yes,” and try to identify the source of your vacillation and your unconscious attachments. The Torah seems to be indicating that even your ambivalence can be from a source above your own will.

According to the mythological layers of Torah called The Midrash, the majority of the Israelites (⅘) could not let go of their old ideas and did not make it out of Egypt.

For those unfamiliar with the Torah narrative, this week's chapters are called BO, meaning "come,"   a word Source Energy/God/H' offers to invite Moses and Aaron (and the reader) closer to the mystery of spiritual logic. This week unfolds the last three Plagues; locusts, darkness and the death of the first born, with the final plague said to have released a scream so profound that the world will never hear anything like it again. Imagine the same trauma (the loss of a first born)  experienced by an entire population in the exact same moment. The only ones spared were those that followed Moses and Aaron's instruction by putting blood on the entrances/exits of their home.

The doorpost being symbolic of the transition to a higher state of consciousness.  The blood itself taken from a sacrificial lamb (a symbol of an Egyptian God), making this a highly active (even hostile) participatory act of severing of old limiting beliefs.

Ultimately, Source Energy/God/H’s  rescue mission did not come without strings attached --  those taken out of physical enslavement were brought into eternal spiritual servitude. From this moment on, the Israelites would be obliged to keep track of time and observe an intergenerational acknowledgment of the specific time Source Energy/God/H’ intervened on their behalf.

The Torah omens highly suggest this is an essential time to make a deep spiritual recommitment to whatever ancient sacred or modern practice you use to honor the oneness of all. For Torah practitioners, this is the week where the rituals of Passover are codified, rituals honored and practiced until this day.

In order to face the coming months and coming age, we must leave behind the limited states of consciousness into which we were born, and begin the process of taking responsibility for our own limiting beliefs.

Wishing everyone a peaceful week of renewed commitments and deeper awareness.

with love,

Hava
