After death/Holy
THE BIG IDEA
Imagine walking around trying to embody holiness all day. As if ‘kedoshim tehiu’ was real and ‘being holy’ was your singular purpose, desire and practice. Imagine wherever you go, whatever you do, you are simultaneously considering how to do it in the holiest possible way….at the supermarket, at the bank, on the street, when drive a car, when you talk to other people…..Now imagine a country where everyone you know or see on the street was also trying it be as holy as possible in that moment. And you knew that because you could see they were trying to follow the same basic basic instruction manual (more or less) as you are. And even if they don’t seem to be trying very hard, you knew in your heart of hearts that they are just as commanded and equally as blessed blessed to be holy (kadosh) as you.
A vision for Israel and the Children of Israel.
If ever there was a week to set your jewish aspirations on being a radiant beacon of divinity in the world - this would be it. The energy of Yom Kippur should help purify any doubt you might about your worthiness and guilt. This is time to start anew.
Some tips – don’t do gross sexual stuff like incest and bestiality — in fact, stay far away from it — have awe for your parents, keep shabbat but most of all – know in your heart of hearts that we are all in this together.. You, me, and the idiot that is so stupid. All of us. To be holy is to hold the awareness of divinity in us all, so we can represent the ways of the divine in it all — no matter what we think of each other, there can be only love. So find lingering hatred, resentment, and grudges… and start clearing out your heart and learning to love - what is real.
