THE BIG IDEA

This week’s energy carries within it the spiritual code to purify the entire nation on a yearly basis - and while the ritual itself is fascinating (it’s the one with the two goats and the lottery) –  it feels especially powerful that the first ritual of ultimate tribal purification was to be performed by a father at the exact altar where two of his sons were consumed by holy fire.

When I think of my spiritual heroes - the idea of Aaron performing his duties with a whole heart, knowing what happened to his sons, and with all that serving the divine with his entire being- put him at the top of my list. 

So… after 6 weeks of sirens, years of war, centuries of persecution - for anyone that is struggling to serve a God we cannot understand but trust is good, and compassionate, and kind, and loving… even when terrible things happen – try your best this Shabbat to let the power of Aaron’s faith wash your doubts clean — allow your soul and your faith to be completely renewed.
