THE BIG IDEA

Time to make peace with the Esau energy.

According to the Torah Omens this is a favorable time to face a sibling or close friend with whom you share a grudge, spite, wound, or deep resentment.

Wrestle your inner angels, and don’t let go until you feel blessed with an identity beyond unhealthy childhood patterns, and early life mistakes. Send out feelers, offer gifts, speak your fears, and bow to the mystery that brings us to encounter experiences beyond our control.

Remember to proceed with caution this week — ancestral reconciliation is not the only energy in the air. This week’s Omens carry an element of vigilante justice (as portrayed by Jacob’s sons, Shimon and Levi who avenge their sister’s rape). Be on high alert for your intentions, and the moments you feel you need to defend yourself or “fight back.”

If you are feeling especially sensitive, angry, or triggered this week, try donating to a charity that helps survivors, praying for the safety of women, children and vulnerable populations, and giving yourself a hug. The only honor worth protecting is the honor of your spiritual practice, and the body (you) that serves life with love.

SOMATIC EXERCISES

Touch fear.

Inhabit Jacob’s world. Imagine you have tricked your way into the thing you wanted most in life, and now it is time to face the person you succeeded.

How do you prepare yourself to face the fear you have been avoiding for your entire adult life?

Imagine four hundred men are coming at you, and you are defenseless.

Allow the fear to surface. Let your body be touched by the unknown resentment that is coming for you -in this moment.

Once you have found your fear (your body will let you know) step up to this person or energy and fall on your face 7 times. (a yoga mat will be helpful) with each bow shift your fear from this person to the awareness of the a higher Source of Power that has created this situation for your personal and spiritual growth.

When you are ready to stand up, raise yourself in knowing that whatever happened is a part of life’s mystery that is beyond both of you.

Hold your sense of awe as the precious gift that person and situation gave you to keep.

Touch Vengeance

An important aspect of somatic work, especially if you have ever felt trapped or frozen, is to go back to that moment of trauma and relive it with a different outcome.

And so, for anyone that has ever experienced sexual violence on any level, (or known someone that has experienced sexual violence), and wished that you had been able to fight back in the moment , or take revenge on those that caused violence, this is an excellent week to tap into the righteous anger of Levi this week who, along with his brother Shimon, slays an entire nation of men.

Take the sword of light into your hands and feel yourself slicing through these men one by one, offering a brutal reminder them and the entire world that no one messes with women, or the people of light.

Feel the catharsis in your ability to physically defend yourself, or a person you love, and punish those that violate God’s honor that is housed in our sacred bodies.

When you are finished with the exercise, take your bloody sword, and imagine offering it to _ _ _ _ and begging the Source Energy of the Universe to never give you, or anyone cause to raise this sword again.

May all women, children, and vulnerable populations be protected, and respected as manifestations of the inseparable oneness of our collective holy life.
