Offering

THE BIG IDEA

This week’s Torah Omens invite you into the divine tent.  Take time to direct your attention to the beauty of sacred spaces and objects.  Imagine a space for the divine in your midst.

Literally.

Stand up. Walk around. Examine your home and work area. Notice the spaces that welcome good feelings and positive thoughts, which spaces contain a neutral feeling, and which spaces do you avoid.

Consider the precision with which God offers the details of his dwelling place, and welcomes all contributions given from the heart.

Use the positive energy that comes in with this week’s new moon, and the laughter of Adar, to strengthen your personal temple building skills.

Do your best to bring more beauty into your physical space and take time to bask in it’s glory.

CREATING SPIRITUAL SPACE EXERCISE

Walk around each room in your home as if you were a special visitor. Perhaps a king or queen or spirit or angel - imagine yourself a character in a movie or a dream. What parts of your home draw your attention? Where would you want to sit? What do you like about the space?

Try making a simple checklist.

Is it clean?

Is there an object you like?

Is there a corner or room you avoid?

Are you able to adjust the lighting?

Does it feel intentional?

In each room try to make a single additional offering. It could be a vase of flowers, it could be a branch from a tree, it could be a candle. Something that you offer your personal temple that shows you are paying attention.

Be inspired by the detailed knowledge God has of his own domain, leaving nothing up to interpretation and be humbled as you try to find your own.

When you finish with your physical space, try the same exercise looking within.
