Command

THE BIG IDEA

It’s purification time!

The shabbat before Passover is commonly referred to as “the big shabbat,” because it contains within it all the lights (soul forces) that will unfold, later this week, on Seder night.

In order to access this weekend’s powerful energy, try to imagine yourself, back in Egypt, with a sheep tied to your bedpost, ready to ritualistically slaughter and roast an animal that everyone around you believes is an actual God.  Continue looking for thoughts and ideas that block you from believing in, and connecting with, the power of a Single Source of Energy, and the possibility of that Source delivering you (and everyone you love) to a complete sense existential freedom.

This week’s Torah Omens further amplify our spiritual potential by offering an extensive description of the ritual and initiation processes commanded of Aaron and his sons, to offer sacrifices and keep the holy fire burning. Imagine the first high priests dressed in their holy garments, covered in oil, initiating as active spiritual channels in this world, and then imagine yourself in a similar initiation process. Note any thoughts that block you from fully accepting your spiritual designation and responsibilities in this world, and do your best to clear them before Wednesday’s full moon.

Shabbat Shalom, Happy Passover, and Happy DEEP Cleaning!

May we merit to keep our inner fires and connection points to experiencing divinity continually lit.

SPIRITUAL DEEP CLEANING Part 2

As you drop into the pressure of preparing your home and soul for the coming holiday, see yourself as a slave in Egypt without a will of your own.

Open your cupboards and clean out any crumbs, imagining your “master” standing on top of you needing you to get everything done in time, making sure you do a good job.

Keep a journal nearby and note any thought, feelings, angers or resentments that come up throughout the process.

On Wednesday morning, offer your remaining bread (chammetz) to the sacred fire, and include your journal entries that describe the blocks and resentments that come up when you are forced to do something against your will.  Allow the fire to clean your literal and metaphysical chammetz (bread and ego defenses aka. any distracting emotional states that come with our puffed up states of mind).

Pray that the fire, and the Passover rituals clear you from any emotions that prevent you from feeling connected to the Source Energy in all things, (including the commandment for deep cleaning each year).

And then, on Wednesday night, as you sit at your Seder table before you bite into your Matzah, do your best to remember that feeling of slavery, the pressure you felt, the anger that arose, and pray, with all you’ve got, that this year is the one of total liberation on every level.

PRAYER PREP

The deep spring cleaning that is required in your home and soul gives new energy, ideas, and life to enter your life.

And so, before biting into the Bread of Humility, Freedom, Healing, and Redemption aka Matzah, take some time to know how you want to fill your life and home this year.

WHAT IS YOUR PRAYER WHEN YOU EAT THE MATZAH…. What do you really really really want this year?

With each bite of Matzah, do your best to digest your prayer and fill your body with positive, conscious focus for a joy filled, spiritually productive, and successful year.
